Admissions

Graduate Study

As seniors, students may apply for admission to the department's doctoral program. Contact the EECS Graduate Office.

Undergraduate Study

At MIT, students are not admitted directly to departments for undergraduate study. Instead, they are first admitted to MIT and then, after the freshman year, may select any major. Contact the MIT Admissions Office.

MIT undergraduates who wish to major in any of the undergraduate degree programs offered by EECS should contact the EECS Undergraduate Office.

As juniors, EECS students may apply for the VI-A M.Eng. Thesis Program, which is a five-year program leading to the Master of Engineering degree, and featuring two summers and one semester working in industry. Contact the EECS VI-A M.Eng. Thesis Program.

As juniors, EECS students may apply for the department's Master of Engineering program. This is an integrated five-year program, open only to MIT EECS undergraduates. Only students who are capable of excellent work at the first-year graduate level will be admitted. Contact the EECS Undergraduate Office.
