Special ProgramsSeveral programs in EECS are designed to facilitate interactions between the department and industry. Industrial Connection Program (ICP)This program provides a formal mechanism for interactions between companies and students in the MIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). Member companies benefit from enhanced on-campus visibility and assistance with recruiting events; students benefit from specific information about opportunities for summer internships and permanent employment. VI-A M.Eng. Thesis ProgramThis program gives EECS students the opportunity to combine industrial experience with academic learning. Students enroll during the sophomore year and typically receive a bachelor's and Master of Engineering degree after a total of five years, with three summers and one semester spent at the company. Women's Technology Program (WTP)This residential four-week program introduces female high school students to Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the summer after their junior year. The rigorous academic curriculum is designed and taught by MIT students and uses hands-on lab experiments and team-based projects to explore topics in EECS. The EECS Department participates in the following Institute-wide diversity-related programs for prospective graduate students. MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP)CONVERGE Graduate Preview Weekend |
